Improvement of Employee Health through a Tailored Health Promotion Program in a Multinational Manufacturing Workplace in Korea

Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a health promotion program administered to employee of a manufacturing workplace in Korea.
Methods: For this study, we implemented a tailored health promotion program to 59 field workers for 12 weeks. This was a case (n=35) control (n=24) study and we compared the physical examination data to determine the effects of the program.
Results: The workers" health was significantly improved after the implementation of health promotion program. There was significant change in case group in variables of GPT, ¥ã-GPT, total cholesterol, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: This study indicates that a tailored health promotion program can be effective in improving the health of workers. The study indicates that a low-cost health promotion program can be effective in improving the health of employees.
